A bit about the work
The process is a big part of the artwork, at first guided by instinct, the pieces are slowly distilled to carry only the essential. The simplicity of forms and economy of materials are self-imposed limitations which free the mind and challenge creativity. At the same time, they create a space away from the overwhelming stream of images and messages we are constantly exposed to.
Her client work and art portfolio are kept separate but they inevitably inform and inspire each other, geometry and crafted compositions from her graphic design background can be appreciated in her artwork as well as experimentation and lyrical elements in her client projects.
Being self-taught gives her freedom and the impulse to experiment with different materials and media. Currently, she has been working with collage, embroidery and digital illustration. As a result of curiosity and a sense of wonder, her work is in constant motion.
Victoria is Brazilian by birth and a nomad at heart. She grew up in Porto Alegre and São Paulo. In 2005 she finished her university studies in Social Communication and moved to London. After studying and working in advertising as an art director for a few years, she decided her life needed a change and moved to Spain in order to refresh her career and dedicate more time to her art practice.
Since 2015 she lives in the Basque Country, in Northern Spain. Where she works as a graphic designer and visual artist with clients and projects worldwide.
