The Fingerprint Series

I work with drawing and printmaking as systems of repetition and variation. Starting from a defined structure or a single mark, I explore how intentionally limited conditions can generate multiple outcomes, and how small interventions within a system can shift its meaning.

The Fingerprint Series takes the imprint as its starting point: one hundred left thumbprints, each made with the same gesture, the same ink, the same surface. From that identical origin, each piece diverges through material, association, found object, or stitched intervention. The series works as a field rather than a sequence: one hundred pieces read together, not in order.

I am interested in what emerges when the same starting point generates different possibilities: repetition as a way of exploring, not defining/fixing. Like the first marks made on cave walls, the fingerprint is the oldest gesture of saying I was here, and also the most open
